The Halifax Explosion

On December 6th, it will have been 99 years since the SS Mont-Blanc, a French cargo ship laden with high explosives, collided with the Norwegian vessel SS Imo in the Narrows, a strait connecting the upper Halifax Harbour to Bedford Basin creating Canada’s worst disaster in History- the Halifax Explosion. We have created a small display on our seasonal table with books about the explosion.
