Upcoming Instore Events

Saturday, June 15th 1-4pm- Local Author, Diane Lynn McGyver will be launching her 3rd book in her Epic Fantasy Castle Keepers Series: ‘Revelation Stones‘ at our store!!! If you haven’t had a chance to read the first two books of the Castle Keeper Series; Book 1- ‘Shadows in the Stone’, and Book 2- ‘Scattered Stones’, she will have them with her as well.  She is also planning to bring book one in her Mystical Series; ‘Beyond the Myst’.  

If you love stories of adventure mixed with magic and romance set in archaic landscapes, you’ll love Diane Lynn McGyver’s Castle Keepers and Mystical epic fantasy series. Unlike many fantasy novels, family plays a central part in these stories, so be prepared for the heroes to receive unwanted motherly advice and for their heart strings to be plucked by the song of home.

Saturday, July 13, 1-4pm- Local Author and Artist Dawn Sinclair and her book ‘Self’ will be at the store.  “Self carries an ageless message that is sure to stay with you. A seed to remembering to stay true to who you really are.”  A book for all ages.

Saturday, August 17, 1pm-4pm- ‘The First Annual Bookstore Romance Day’ with local Historical Romance Author Michelle Helliwell and her books: ‘Not Your Average Beauty’, ‘No Prince Charming’, ‘Never Trust A Rogue in Wolf’s Clothing‘ and her latest ‘ No Place For A Lady‘. Also with us that day will be New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Cathryn Fox.  She will be bringing her Players on Ice Series ‘The Playmaker’, ‘The Stick Handler’, ‘The Body Checker’, ‘The Hard Hitter’ and ‘The Risk Taker’ and her stand-alone; ‘Single Dad Next Door’.  Lastly, Local Paranormal Romance author Taryn Blackthorne will be here with her book ‘High Tide at Harvest Moon’.  The diversity of the genre Romance Fiction will be represented at this event; Historical, Contemporary, Erotic and Paranormal. 

Bookstore Romance Day is a day designed to give independent bookstores an opportunity to celebrate Romance fiction—its books, readers, and writers—and to strengthen the relationships between bookstores and the Romance community. 

Wednesday, October 23rd 6:30- 7:30pm- Professional Storyteller Cindy Campbell-Stone: The Storytelling liaison of the Helen Creighton Folklore Society will be doing a Bluenose Ghosts Night at the store.  More details to come on this exciting event.

Saturday, November 16th 1-4pm- Local Author and Publisher Anne Louise O’Connell of OC Publishing will be here with her fiction novels: ‘Mental Pause’ & ‘Deep Deceit’.

Saturday, November 30th 1-4pm-  We are excited with the return of both the children’s Author, Anita Johnston Gazzola & Illustrator, Melissa J.K. Conrad, and their next Picture Book coming out this summer, ‘As I Wander‘, which is about our local beach; Rainbow Haven.

Saturday December 14th 1-4pm- We will be hosting Local Author Sarah Sawler and her books ‘100 Things You Don’t Know about Nova Scotia’ and ‘100 Things You Don’t Know about Atlantic Canada for Kids’.  She also co-wrote: ‘Be Prepared! The Frankie MacDonald Guide to Life, the Weather, and Everything’.

Saturday, February, 1st, 1-4pm- For World Read Aloud Day, Local Children’s Author Alice Walsh and her picture book ‘Uncle Farley’s False Teeth‘ will be at the store.  She will also be bringing copies of her debut mystery novel ‘Last Lullaby’

Saturday, March 7th, 1-4pm- Local Author Ellen E. Sutherland will be here with the first in her Historical Time Traveling Jamie Poole Diaries Series ‘The Isle of Osiris

Saturday, August 15th, 1-4pm– ‘The Second Annual Bookstore Romance Day’ TBA

September– Dartmouth Book Exchange’s 20th Anniversary Celebration
