With the kids back in school, we have already played host to a couple of homeschool field trips. We are so pleased that Dartmouth Book Exchange is a literacy destination for homeschoolers.
We are a great place to visit when you are trying to create a homeschool library on a budget. The following is some of what you’ll find at our store.
*We have a children’s room with more than 2,000 books- from picture books to leveled readers to chapter books.
*For the older tweens and teens, we have a paranormal/ fantasy aisle and a fiction wall.
*We have a children’s french section with picture and chapter books
*We have a children’s non- fiction bookcase
*We have a growing section of brand new locally authored children’s books. Included in these are a couple of historical fiction chapter books that fit in with the Nova Scotia middle-grade curriculum objectives. See staff for details.
*For the elementary kids, we have a scavenger hunt posted to help make their visit more involved, enjoyable and dare I say, educational.
*We even have a homeschool bookshelf with books for the homeschool teachers
